Hi, and thanks for deciding to have a look at "Get Playing Lead Guitar".

First things first, what exactly is this book all about and and how can it help you in your learning?

Well I'd like to start off by saying that there is nothing like being able to play guitar and even more so get to a stage where you are confident that you can put on a backing track or a song and play along or "improvise" lead guitar and solo's over the top of it. Sound good?

This may seem like a "dream" to an absolute beginner but with a little practice and patience you could be doing this is a very short space of time.

"Get Playing - Lead Guitar" - comes with an accompanying CD with over 50 audio tracks including 11 backing tracks (recorded specifically by myself for the book) to play along too giving you the chance to practice the riffs and scales over real chord progressions in a more "real life" setting.

So why write a book?

I am a full-time guitar teacher of 4 years and have been playing for 17 years and also composing songs for about the same amount of time. I have enjoyed every minute of my learning and playing guitar both acoustic and electric guitar, rhythm, lead, and covering various styles including Jazz, Reggae, Pop, Rock, Metal, etc..

My reason for writing this book was simple - there are literally hundreds if not thousand's of guitar teaching books out there some good and some bad. Through my teaching full-time, I get a lot of feedback on books students have purchased - most of this I have to say is bad. The most common complaint being that they have been struggling with a book they have purchased and end up "getting nowhere". Either the book is too difficult to understand or is not engaging enough to hold the students attention.

I decided that it was time there was a book that was value for money and gave you exactly the tools you need to get started playing Lead Guitar.

Even when I have been looking to purchase books myself I have had trouble getting the "right" book for the job so I know from experience how frustrating it can be.

The focus and reason behind the development of this book was the very positive (and encouraging) feedback I have been receiving from my home and school students. The book contains my unique teaching techniques which have proven very successful with both current and past students.

I have designed the book to get "straight to the point" with straight forward and useful advice based on my experiences as a guitar player of 17 years and as a teacher of 4 years. I have been careful to write the book from the students perspective of view (remember I was where you are now!) and I know how frustrating and difficult it can be learning guitar - whatever style.

This book is aimed at beginners and more intermediate players - so its is full of all the scales and riffs you need to get started playing lead guitar. (I would suggest if you are an absolute beginner to master your basic chords and some basic rhythm first before going onto lead guitar - this is the most common and effective way most people learn as learning chords gives you a sound foundation for advancing onto scales and solo playing.

We want you to be 100% happy with your purchase, and 100% confident before you buy!

If you have any queries at all please don't hesitate to contact me and I will try and answer any questions you have.
